Call MDs: Don't start any meds without checking with your ob. Gut symptoms? See your gastroenterologist to see what is going on inside-could be hemorrhoids, or not, or more than that. Not uncommon for uc to flare in the 3rd trimester, especially if meds were discontinued.

Yes: The most important thing is your health and getting your uc under control. It is safe to stay on Mesalamine products as well as start steroids or even consider a biologic agent. Go see your doctor.

See MD, Stop Advil (ibuprofen): Sounds like you have already done enough watching and waiting. Go to your physician for an examination to check for disc injury and other problems. Over the counter analgesics, physical therapy, massage therapy, yoga and acupuncture may help. Initiall cold, then warm compresses after a day or two. If not resolving, i send my patients for x-ray, mri, and referral to ortho and/or pain clinic.

Re stopping pradaxa: how many days in advance my scheduled x-stop spacer implant back surgery should I stop taking this blood thinner? I take a 150mg capsule twice a day. I started this prescription on 11/17/2012 and prior to that I took 7.5mg Coumadin

Consult your doc: This question should have been addressed by your surgeon in consultation with the doctor who put you on it. The proper answer also needs to take into account why you are on the pradaxa. You may need to take Heparin injections between the time you stop the Pradaxa and the surgery.

?Influenza: Although this is an unusual time of year to to have influenza, or a flu-like viral infection, this is possible. What is of concern are the anxiety, delusions and insomnia. You are in an area of the U.S. In which lyme disease is prevalent. Strongly suggest you see your doctor and get diagnosed one way or another. Hope you are better soon.
