I am an avid runner with unfortunate bad leg genes. i know there is a window for protein intake after a hard workout. what is easiest way to get it on the go? no shakes.

Ah, NUTS: Walnuts and almonds are good as well as legumes like kidney beans, navy beans, black and red beans. Protein snack bars are good too but difficult to make taste good. Drink lots of water.

Prioritize!!: After a hard workout first replace fluid and electrolytes. Dehydration and electrolyte imbalance can be fatal ! then , replace protein with protein enriched fluids, or easy to digest "solids". Ie: yogurt, tofu.
