Pain/function: The ability to play sports with an ankle sprain depends on many factors: how much pain do you have? What is your function- can you run and cut with your typical speed and skill? Are you 90% or 70%? How important is this game? Reinjury may increase the severity and cause you to be out for a longer period of time. Yes, taping or a brace would be recommended if attempting to play. Think big picture.
