A member asked:

Been diagnosed advanced sleep phase disorder and i'm 35 and healthy. light therapy not really working. is something wrong with my brain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Advanced phase sleep: Disorder is generally a brain problem that is often genetically inherited and that shifts many other hormonal axes in our circadian rhythm systems. Light therapy must be dosed with appropriate intensity, generally 10, 000 lux and must be appropriately timed. Even then it is often ineffective and the person may have to learn to live with it. I have seen attempts to fight it result in major bipolar episodes. Best wishes.
