A member asked:

Why aren't mris more commonplace? i've heard so many stories about people suffering for years, and only getting an mri after medication and therapy fail. i feel like brain scans should be more common early on in diagnoses. thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRI procedures are very common and frequent, but remain fairly expensive, and are not always covered by insurance plans. If you indeed feel strongly about the need for more ready availability, you could contact your local politicians, to support more affordable access to this valuable imaging technique.
