Dr. K Bigelow answered

Gingivitis: Gingivitis is the beginning of periodontitis or gum disease. It is caused by bacteria that accumulates under the gum tissues and between the teeth. If left un treated, the bacteria can cause bone loss and eventually tooth loss. Seek a professional dental cleaning and begin flossing daily along with your brushing to help stop the bleeding.
