Maybe: Simple abscesses can be drained and require no antibiotics. Complex ones require drainage and antibiotics execially if recurrent.

Stilll swollen?: If it is still swollen or hot it amy only be partially open amd need to be drained by physician. You can try hot compresses in interim to promote drainage.

Maybe: The sovereign treatment for an abscess is draining the pus out of it. If the abscess burst spontaneously and spread under the skin, it did not drain; the infection could easily get worse, not better. Let your doctor evaluate the situation and determine what treatment is necessary. Infections are not something you should watch and wait on.
