Injection site abscess from months ago. not hurt til after burst under my skin. golf ball sz now. on zpak at rupture, what can i do?

I&D: Abscesses generally will not heal by just taking antibiotics. Your abscess needs to be drained. Any emergency department can do an incision and drainage (I&D) of your abscess. Packing is usually placed to keep the incision open so the healing process can take place from inside to outside. Do not try to drain it yourself as this can cause a very bad infection.
