A member asked:

Doing a 72hr fecal fat test. if positive, what test would be next. already had in last 2yrs. normal colonoscopy, u.s., ct scan and other stool tests?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Malabsorption: A 72 hour fecal fat is to check for malabsorption. If it is positive, then the cause of malabsorption would need to be determined. The next test or tests would be determined by your symptoms, the results of earlier tests and the result of fecal fat test.
