I have had tiny bit of mucus on and off in stool for almost a year. drs say it is likely ibs. no blood or worsening symptoms. i have been afraid to do a colonoscopy or ct colonoscopy. i had negative fit test last year. are there other alternatives?

You may watch and wait. There are no diagnostic tests for IBS. Annual FIT tests will detect any inflammation that could result in bleeding as well as any other cause of bleeding in the colon.
