Intake/output: Whether you gain or lose weight depends on the total caloric intake vs total caloric expenditure regardless of the kind of food you eat. A diet too low in fat may make people eat more since they tend to feel hungry more often. Exercise will also bulk up your muscle mass which contributes to the weight with its higher water content. A smaller waist line is a better indicator for health than weight.
