Not long: If you're following good dental hygine routine, bleeding should reduce then stop over a few wks or less. Do you floss? Often times when we don't floss regularly or brush thoroughly some tissues don't get in contact with either floss or toothbrush, & become inflamed/irritated and gum disease can develop. A water pik might help too. Be sure to see your dentist regularly, esp if it doesn't clear.

If you were told you have 6mm pockets, bleeding and inflamed gums than it could take more than two weeks for a resolution. If no problems than less than two weeks but you must practice good oral hygiene no matter the time element. Use a soft tooth brush, floss, rinse with anti bacterial agent prescribed, use a gum stimulator, interdental brush and start to brush on gums first than teeth.
