Tender Gums Post Tx: Good day; Most likely you experienced an allergic reaction to materials/ chemicals used during prophylaxis. Possible harshness of stain removal (prophy jet) or reaction to irrigating solutions. If you are not improving on a daily basis contact DDS/ Hygienist who performed cleaning.

After cleaning....: It's not uncommon for your gums to feel sore after a thorough dental cleaning although this generally only lasts a couple of days. Some patients develop canker sores after dental procedures. You should relate these symptoms to your own dentist and if it still persists, ask to be seen to make sure everything is fine and you are healing normally.
