Pediatric ENT: Your son should be seen by an ENT doctor who specializes in children. This may require placement of a tube through the eardrum, but possibly an adenotonsillectomy, or other procedure. It may also be necessary to assess your son's immune competance. Take him to be seen and i hope he will be better very soon. Best.

Should see an ent: if he has had 6 true ear infections you should see an ent surgeon and have a hearing test--he may need tubes

Evaluation: Many of these kids develop middle ear muck that is thicker than axel grease & impossible for antibiotics to penetrate much less clear. During tube placement they suck out all this debris so the ear can heal. The tubes preserve ventilation & can reduce frequency of infections. My mantra is 5 in a year or 1 that won't clear (90 days) gets tubes in the ears.
