Left ovary removed at age 15 due to benign tumor. now 5cm dermoid on right ovary. would my regular ob/gyn be the best person to do surgery or should i contact a gyn oncologist? i want to keep ovary!

It depends: You want to pick the surgeon with the most experience doing this type of surgery. Some oncologists don't do much "ovarian preservation", and some general gynecologists spend more of their time doing obstetrics. So you need to do ask your gynecologist if s/he is comfortable with this surgery and how often s/he does it. Ideally s/he'll bow out and refer you to a specialist if s/he's not comfortable.

This is benign: So you don't need to see an oncologist. He/she will do everything possible to keep your ovary. Good luck.
