Hypochondriasis: The name for excessive anxiety about health is hypochondriasis. Most people think it means your problems are "all in your head" but one can have real health problems & still be a hypochondriac if excessively worried about health. The main treatments are counseling & anxiety meds but consider homeopathy too.See http://www.Mayoclinic.Org/diseases-conditions/hypochondria/basics/definition/con-20028314

Hypochondriacs: Worry themselves sick. If you are obsessing about physical illnesses and do not have any (have been checked out by a physician), consider getting into psychotherapy to figure out why you are so worried about being sick. Did you know someone who died at a young age? Did someone in your family get sick suddenly? There could be amnay reasons for your anxiety. Talk to a psychologist ; learn t stop.

Need more specifics: Anxiety can manifest itself in a # of ways. It would be helpful to understand the pattern of your thoughts & behaviors and THEN to begin figuring out whether your anxiety is tied to, say, a phobia or obsession. Suggest finding clinical psychologist thru ocfoundation.Org - someone w/expertise in CBT/ERP. Easy 2 imagine your "health anxiety" becoming all-consuming. Check out: http://bit.Ly/pj1q7t
