Low iron is not known to cause cancer, some cancers may contribute to a low iron through recurrent bleeding, you might need to have your anxiety addressed with the help of your doc.

My haptoglobin level is elevated, at 2.65 g/L (ref. 0.17-2.00). Is this in and of itself a cause for concern (e.g. cancer)? I have also been experiencing low iron/hemoglobin/hematocrit for some time. Kidney/liver function normal. GI tract is clear.
What causes hemoglobin and hematocrit to be low but MCV levels, Iron, and ferritin levels are normal. Been having this problem for 8mths No blood in stool. Guaiac test was normal. Bowel changes mostly soft stool w/ mucus. Could this be colon cancer?
