Hypothyroidism TSH: As your free T4 falls with hypothyroidism, the pituitary TSH increases, trying to stimulate the thyroid (but it can't because the thyroid is dead). So TSH is a good marker of your hypothyroidism and a guide to replacement. If your TSH is 97, you are probably feeling bad with hypothyroidism. If your TSH is 8, your ft4 is probably almost normal, but you may need a slightly higher dose.
