Somatic Response: Any kind of trauma causes the same response in the brain with activation of the reptilian brain and of the sympathetic nervous system causing all of your symptoms. It is a good idea to see someone experienced somatic experiencing techniques to prevent these symptoms from persisting. A single brief exposure to such trauma can throw a normally functioning individual into a cycle of suffering.

Yes: Trauma can impact on appetite, anxiety and upset stomach. It is important to seek psychotherapy as soon as possible following traumatic experiences for the best outcomes. Emdr (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) has different protocols for treatment within a month after the trauma or later after the symptoms become more entrenched.
