I woke up with the left side of my face swollen, could this be because i irritated the tooth by messing with it? help i'm scared.

Likely infection: Not because you were messing with it over night. There are a lot of possibilities. Most likely it is an iinfection. If it is not getting worse see a dentist tomorrow. If it is getting worse go to the er.
