Please help! what is the difference between cervical disc herniation and cervical disc encroachment?

Disc herniation: Is the process of the disc expanding outside of normal range. When they say encroachment, they are talking about the herniation itself moving toward, or encroaching, on either nerve roots or the spinal canal.
