I have a cervical fusion at c3,4,5. i have a herniation at c5-6. how would the herniated disc be fixed? would it be connected to my current fusion?

Adjacent Fusion: If you have a herniated disc at a level near your current fusion the new disc can be treated with a fusion that would connect with the other fusion. There are also new modern devices which allow us to do this without removing the plate from your previous surgery.
