A member asked:

Can i get chlamydia or gonorrhea by sharing towels, soaps, or toilet seat? worried since i live and share bathroom with someone who had those stds.

No: Gonorrhea and chlamydia are transmitted via vaginal, anal, or oral sexual contact and cannot survive outside the body, so you cannot pick them up from shared towels, toilet seats or soap. However, other types of std like trichomonas, crab lice, and scabies mite can potentially be transmitted via shared towels.
