Can you describe pulpotomy and pulpectomy in primrary and permanant teeth?

Similar procedures: By definition, a pulpotomy is removal of the pulp within the crown of a tooth, leaving the pulp in the roots behind. This is done commonly in primary teeth because the roots are thin and risky to clean out. It can preserve a baby tooth for a few years. Pulpectomy is done as an emergency procedure in permanent teeth to relieve pain and is the first step in root canal therapy.

All or none: A pulpotomy refers to removal of the nerve (pulp) from within the crown portion of the tooth whereas a pulpectomy refers to when the pulp tissue is also removed from the roots
