Yes: Malocclusion is causative of, or contributory to, most joint problems. If you have a malocclusion, and your jaws don't function properly because your teeth and/or your jaws are malrelated, seeking consultation with an orthodontic specialist would be prudent.

If excessive enough: Some overbite is normal, but excessive overbite can contribute to TMJ dysfunction. Your jaw joint is the most complicated joint in your entire body and often correction of TMJ dysfunction requires a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Stress also plays a big role is triggering TMJ pain. Find a stress reducing activity that you like. See a TMJ specialist.
