It's worth it: This procedure involves an orthodontist and an oral surgeon. So, it's not a cheap procedure. However, if you need it, it's life changing. You should start with an orthodontist, they typically offer complimentary consultations.

Jaw surgery costs: As with many surgical issues, a 400 word forum can't sub for a visit to discuss the surgery and all that is involved, including risks, benefits, and alternatives, as well as costs, etc. The oral surgeon would need records, impressions, xrays, and a great deal of other data before coming to the conclusions. So making any comments about costs without the details is unwise. See an oral surgeon.

Location?: Varies with extent of surgery. Varies a lot with geographic location. Varies with your insurance plan. Some states mandate insurance coverage. Fees in different parts of country vary also. Some surgeons feel comfortable with outpatient surgery, some inpatient (higher fees). Your oral & maxillofacial surgeon can give you a good idea about cost.
