YES: You will burn more calories by caring more wt. But the amt of increase will not be much.

It's actually 29 calories/hour per 8 pounds of weight. http://www.discoverwalking.com/blog/how-many-calories-burned-wearing-weight-vest.php From personal experience add weight slowly, about 4lb/week. Walking with weight is resistance training and builds leg muscles and strengthens bones.
