gallstones for 40 years. now just developed itching skin over the body but no jaundice!can one have itching skin without jaundice from gallstones?

Not likely...: Pruritis - or itchy skin - is not a typical symptom of gallstones. It can be, however, an occult sign of liver disease so you should see your doctor with these complaints and get your liver checked. Good luck!

Jaundice of: Skin only becomes apparent when your bilirubin level is over 2.5 or so. It is possible you have elevated bilirubin without jaundice that is causing itching. Also, you can get skin itching from a whole lot of reasons, such as allergy, insect bite, medication reaction, or just plain dry skin. It is best to get to a doctor for full evaluation.
