A member asked:

Does a jaundice from a bile duct obstruction of a gallstone cause visible symptoms like yellowing of the eyes/skin or does the jaundice in this case tend to remain silent while abdominal pain etc act as more common symptoms?

It depends on the cause of obstructive jaundice. Painless jaundice is always alarming us about biliary obstruction due to tumor such as pancreatic cancer; biliary colic (pain due to bile duct issue) happens first and then jaundice a couple days later when the common bile duct is obstructed by stone.
