Don't know for sure: Because there have not been any well documented clinical trials, it's difficult to say if it works or if it's safe. I see these on sale at amazon for $90. Unfortunately the manufacturer's website relies mostly on "testimonials" to sell their product, which is as unscientific as you can get. It may work, it's just that no one has bothered to do a study (on the lumbar version anyways).

Temporary Relief: Traction can help relieve pain and symptoms caused by pinched nerves temporarily. The safety depends on your anatomy and ability to operate the traction apparatus properly. Why would you go?: Are you havin pain? Musculoskeletal problems can give you neck pain (strain, joints, arthritis, pinched nerve). A disc bulge can be minor or serious. Why would you go to a chiro ? Best to see an md who can help you isolate the cause and arrive at a solution. In the mean time, stretch, heat, relaxation may help.
