AICD=your paramedic: Aicd just means automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator and it does not do much unless your heart goes "out of whack or stops". Basically it will "shock your heart" automatically when it senses a need to do so, similar to when the paramedic trying to shock you to get your heart going again. So in a sense, you have a paramedic with you at all time. So, that all it does..Good luck.
