Risk/benefit balance: The mobi-c device has not been available long enough at this point to have 10-20 year data to have directly applicable information to know. But all spinal surgery carries a risk over time that the repair may fail, or that the underlying back problem will progress, involving more areas, necessitating more surgery. Ultimately, the decision has to be about the risk to benefit balance of doing it now.
