Wrong question: All surgery carries risk. Consider what you expect to gain from the operation and does it outweigh the risks from YOUR perspective. To answer those questions you first need to be sure that the diagnosis is accurate. In this case, is the pain you have truly caused by the hardware (cause it usually doesn't), or is it some other result of the first surgery like scarring, or even something unrelated.
