Case specific: Some wisdom teeth can be removed simply using only local anesthesia(numbing). However, impacted wisdom teeth or third molars can be more difficult. Sedation of the patient can help to calm patient, and allow surgeon to work quickly and uninterrupted. The patient can get the procedure done once and forget it.
