Discomfort: Sedation will relax you but not "knock you out." you will be conscious (able to respond) during the procedure but very mellow. Afterward, you will remember little or none of the appointment. As for the extractions, impacted teeth generally require surgery to remove, so expect to be very sore and maybe even to have some pain. Plan on two to three days downtime, minimum, for recovery.

Comfort!: I.V. Sedation ( or inhalation with nitrous oxide) for wisdom extraction should make the experience painless and relaxing. You may not recall much about the experience as sedation almost always causes retrograde amnesia. Drifting in and out of awareness during "conscious sedation" is quite typical. Remember not to eat or drink at least 6-8 hours before the scheduled procedure. Then, relax & enjoy!
