Yes.: Sedation is not always a necessity with wisdom teeth extractions. Depending on the situation you can and should have them removed using local anesthesia. The degree of post operative pain depends more on the severity of the extractions than the use of sedation.

You shouldn't: As long as you are proper local anesthesia, you shouldn't feel a thing during the procedure. Sedation is optional and helps many deal with the mental aspect of removing teeth but is not necessary for the numbing part. Afterwards, it's normal to have some discomfort or pain (varies with difficulty of extraction) which is easily handled with pain medication. Discuss these issues with the surgeon.
