High blood pressure and blood in eye, is there any connection between them?

Possibly: Increased blood pressure can lead to the rupture of blood vessels on the surface - sub conjunctival hemorrhage, within the retina and into the vitreous- vitreous hemorrhage.

Retinal hemorrhages.: Advanced stages of chronic hypertensive damage can demonstrate retinal hemorrhages. Also, very high blood pressures (malignant hypertension) can acutely produce hemorrhages and bleeding inside the eye as well.
