Hypertension can cause damage to the blood vessels in the retina, the area at the back of the eye where images focus. This eye disease is known as hypertensive retinopathy. The damage can be serious if hypertension is not treated.

Significant damage: Hypertension may cause damage to the retina by damaging the blood supply to the retina. This can cause retinal hemorrhage, blurring of vision and even complete loss of vision. Also, can cause optic neuropathy. It can also lead to fluid build up in the choroid, needing surgery. Allergy presents with runny nose, reddening of conjunctiva and sclera, itching and watering of eyes, sneezing etc.
