0.5-1% Pregnancies: Kidney dilation (hydronephrosis, renal pyelectasis) is a common us finding noted in up to 1% of pregnancies. Often times they amount to nothing but in rare cases they're associated with chromosomal anomalies (down's, t21) or genitourinary problems like kinked valves or cysts. These should be followed up with a 3rd tri us and/or genetic testing.
