Excessive bleeding?: Is the bleeding a new symptom? How deep was the cut? In the wrist area the are lots of superficial veins and a few important arteries that could bleed impressively when cut. If you have not had a history of easy or frequent bruising or bleeding, or a family history of a bleeding disorder, then all the blood you saw is likely from a cut blood vessel. Check with your doctor to make sure all is well.

Many vessels: There are many blood vessels around the wrist if cut can bleed significantly. If these are cut than it is best to have the cut evaluated by a doctor as there are lots of important structures in addition to these vessels at the wrist that may need to be repaired.
