Need a dentist: Calculus needs to be removed with scalers and ultrasonic instruments. Brushing calculus is akin to trying to wear away concrete with a broom. It just doesn't work.

Dentist or hygienist: Once tartar has formed, only your dentist or hygienist can remove it. Visit your dentist for a professional teeth cleaning.
