How much time ?: Temporary restorations do not last more than a couple of weeks. Hard to know exactly what is occurring inside that tooth. Please see the dentist who is treating you. If you have a final restoration, it might be leaking.

IDK: There is no way for us to know exactly what you are tasting and why. Perhaps a permanent or temporary filling broke? See a dentist and have it checked out.

Medicine: Since you stated after all this time, its possible that the time elapsed since you had initiated the procedure exceeded the natural life of the temporary material. If you can taste it, then bacteria can back in and reinfect the tooth. Contact your dentist.

Unfinished treatment: Unfinished root canal treatment that usually completed in one to three visits. Some doctors will place interim medication with the cotton pellet in the tooth; you may taste this medication sometimes for a while.
