Depends: Much of the cost for retreatment depends on the particular tooth and region of the country you live in. Generally about 1.5 times the cost of an initial root canal.

Varies: This can vary based on the number of canals involved and the situation. $1000 and up is possible. An endodontic specialist is advised for a re-treat. Sometimes a re-treat is not possible or other options are good to consider. Ask your dentist or research the subject. www.iabdm.org has some information for you to consider.

Depends on tooth: Needing to have a tooth retreated puts you in a different category since root canal treatment is largely successful. The average cost of re-treatment is 30 to 50% more than the cost of the initial treatment. The success rate is also a lot lower. You may want to consider an implant.
