My tonsil and glands are swollen only on my left side, and it appears my uvula is being pushed aside. cause? treatment?

Tonsillar abcsess: Infection of the tonsils can cause an abscess. This can lead to deviation of the uvula and is a serious infection which can cause airway compromise. I would recommend seeing a physician asap and if any symptoms of difficulty swallowing or breathing should be seen in the er.
