Headaches: Headaches would not be a direct result of either braces or gingivitis. Gingivitis most likely from inadequate oral hygiene. Headaches may be from stress, dehydration or other cause.

2 separate problems: These 2 problems should be addressed separately. 1. gingivitis, gum disease, see your dentist. 2. Headache, especially tension type headache, could be related to your orthodontic treatment, see your orthodontist for evaluation and management.
