A member asked:

Can a cycst be seen on a spinal x-ray?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No.: A radiograph can discern air, fat, soft tissue ; bone densities. A water-filled cyst is of the same radiodensity as surrounding soft-tissues, and thus cannot be distinguished as distinct. Thus a spinal radiograph may show anatomy that contains a cyst, yet will not show up as distinct.
