To some extent : Xrays are two dimensional studies and as such do not really show the area of the nerve canal itself, but there are Times when we can look at a persons xrays and know the person almost certainly has spinal stenosis based upon what the X-ray looks like. We then will typically get further studies to confirm such as an MRI, ct scan, or a myelogram.
