Colitis: There are several different types of colitis. From your comments it doesn't sound like you have colitis. Mild inflammation is normal in the colon.

Sigmoidoscopy : You had a sigmoidoscopy and biopsies were taken. The doctor wants to see you in a couple weeks. The doctor will review the biopsy results which are more accurate than just looking from the scope. Bring a family member with you to help write down what the doctor tells you. You are in the age range for inflammatory bowel syndrome, but wait for the doctor to talk to you before you have diagnosis.
