Get checked: If you are having abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea now, you probably have active colitis. "Inactive colitis" is a confusing term but would refer to a biopsy that did not show acute inflammatory cells like neutrophils. That term could be used if you had active colitis at one time on colonoscopy then improvement at a later date. If you are having these symptoms now get checked very soon.
