Drinking ; Dentisty: Drinking alcohol after root canal therapy is not advised especially when taking narcotic pain medicine. It also affects the absorbation rate of the antibiotic. If you're taking the anti-biotic flagyl, that will make you extremely ill. Just don't drink til you're healed.

Possibly: Ask your dr. To make sure, but with most root canals its not a problem.Your pain meds and antibiotics may change that.

Not a good idea: If you are taking any type of antibiotic and/or narcotic pain medication then you should not be drinking alcohol. At the least it can interfere with how well the medications will work, at the most it can make you very ill. If you are not taking any medications then alcohol will not cause nay more damage then it usually would.
